Hi Laura

Reading your post made me reflect on one of the recommendations of Darren's which was adding your signature with a link to your blog.

I have thought long and hard about his suggestion. I do think it is a good suggestion. In my case I have decided that with the main forum that I participate in I will not do this because I am after long term relationship building. If I have information that will help others on one of my websites I will link to it - and people have become to recognise my brand, which is fine.

I agree with what you are saying about Facebook but I would also recommend Twitter if you have a community you interact with. I have gained so much by interacting with people in Twitter - which was something I never expected.

Thanks for the encouragement Paul, not aware of any other nptechers here in the UK embarking on this!
I hope that my thoughts didn't appear to negative, I want others to embrace all of this, although keep a careful eye and manage it too.
Thankfully, I have only seen one incident where a VCS/non-profit manager came to me for advice on the matter when they had been notified of a team member posting on forums that didn't relate or have any benefit, under the charities' name which they had cause for concern for due to the content that had been posted!
Have a great holiday Paul!

Great tips from Problogger ... nicely packaged into English by you Laura! Keep up the good work and hope you make it through the first of the 31 days (I can take over your thread and post the remainder on Watfordgap if you'd like?).
Will be thinking of the South West VCS as I zip along at 186mph!! (Oh i'm such a fibber!) and I promise I will leave some of the red wine for you to drink!
Good weekend to you
