Hi, Laura and thanks for a splendid article which put the light on snews just the way we like it to. I think you brings forth the essens of the intentions with snews.

FYI (and others), there is a great deal of forum members being active in creating modifications, which as of now demand even more of the user to install, I’ll grant you that, and there is ongoing discussions about on the one hand, making a install script (exists in a very simple version, but not released) and on the other hand a version where the modifications could be much more… “plug and play”.

So we look at snews and it’s future with a great deal of expectations and joy.

Will keep in touch about the VCS ‘free theme and template site’ idea with compliant and accessible templates for non profits to use.

When designing I create two mock up sites for clients. We only use one, so I often have a reserve of spares. Would seem a good idea to ‘recycle’ some of them! I hope to get time to neaten them up and package them in the Spring.

A very interesting article. I like WordPress but get annoyed at the bits I don’t need and which distract from the simple task of creating pages and posts. I’ll give sNews a go some time, thanks for bringing it to my attention - it looks ideal for a simple charity website and the admin pages look exactly like I’d would want a simple CMS to look.

I’d like to see your WordPress themes for nonprofits - they’d be appreciated. I’ve built a few myself from scratch (www.caringchoices.org.uk, http://www.relatelondonnw.org.uk) and noticed that there were few suitable non-blog-alike themes already available.
